Cholecystitis

It is inflammation of the gall bladder – a small digestive organ beneath the liver. Cholecystitis is mostly caused by stones that block the tube leading from the gallbladder to the small intestine. If left untreated, it can lead to life-threatening complications.

Causes: Gallstones, tumour, bile duct blockage, infection and blood vessel problems

Symptoms: Severe pain in upper right or centre abdomen, tenderness over abdomen when it’s touched, nausea, vomiting and fever
