Starting Monday, November 4, I’ll be here to support you and answer all your TRE or Time Restricted Eating and general fasting questions.

This week, I’ll add a video every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday morning with a topic and tip about Time Restricted Eating to help support your TRE or fast. You may choose any type or length of fast you wish, or simply practice meal timing and use the support here to learn. Everyone is welcome.

TRE, Time Restricted eating is defined as an eating window of 6 or 8 hours, and the balance of hours

(16 or 18) no eating at all. Example: eating lunch at 12 pm and dinner at 6 pm, within a 6 hour window.

I drink to thirst while fasting. I also supplement additional sodium and magnesium. I take an additional 400 milligrams of magnesium glycinate every evening. My sodium intake I keep at approximately 3,500 milligrams a day, this to be taken in small amounts throughout the day, not all at once! Some may need more, some less.

I first started following Dr. Fung’s The Obesity Code nearly three years ago. Because of the ketogenic diet and consistent fasting and TRE, I am no longer diabetic. Fasting improved my health dramatically, and it has increased my insulin sensitivity.

Remember that safety comes first!

Any time your blood glucose falls below 3.0 mmol/L (53 mg/dL) break the fast. No exceptions! We also want you to break the fast if your blood ketones reach 6.5 mmol/L or higher.

Another request: No discussing food on this thread during a fasting week. I know it’s tempting to discuss the foods you plan to break your fast with, but it can cause hunger in those reading your post who would like to continue fasting. (Including me!)
