Nicotine pouches are now restricted to pharmacies. Former smokers say that's making it harder to quit

Packages of nicotine pouches on the shelf of an Ottawa convenience store. The federal government is placing major restrictions on the sale and advertisement of the pouches after national health groups raised concerns about teenagers using them.

Canada has banned nicotine pouches from convenience stores and gas stations, while pulling fruity flavours they say were targeted at youth — but adult nicotine users say the new regulations are also making it harder for them access a product that helped them quit cigarettes.
