Canada's infant mortality rate used to rank in the top 10 among wealthy, developed nations, but that ranking has slipped. In 2021, Canada ranked 30th among the 38 member nations of the Organisation for Economic Co-operation and Development. Analysts say it's a bright red warning flag about the state of the social safety net.
