First Nation in B.C. declares state of emergency over 'unrelenting' impact of drugs and alcohol

A statement on the declaration from the Ehattesaht Nation cites the “unrelenting” impact of drugs and alcohol on Ehattesaht, along with “the intergenerational effects of Residential Schools and the oppression of the systems that the federal and provincial governments have created.”
